Please take the PPS survey today! You have so much to gain by being involved on a district level. You're feedback is needed! PPS Community Dialogues: “The Designing for the Future steering committee is hard at work organizing a framework to create a community-driven facilities vision for our school district. More than 40 parents, teachers, business & faith leaders, college and early childhood repre...sentatives are creating a survey with the assistance of Dr. Bill DeJong, DeJong-Richter, to determine the diverse priorities. Committee members, school staff and the media will be inviting community members to participate in the two dialogues. Through these large-scale meetings and an online survey, the committee will begin work on possible facilities options. Share your input on a master facilities plan by taking the survey! Only open for a few more days!! and PLEASE COME TO THE NEXT MEETING 7pm Thursday, November 20th at Central High School”. More info at Portageps.org

*Please Vote Tuesday Nov 4 Portage Public Schools has an important issue on the ballot. The PPS Building Site Sinking Fund is up for renewal and will be the last item on the ballot. In place since 1966, this millage helps pay for roof replacement, secure entrances and parking lots at our schools. Many polling locations have changed, check where you should vote at vote411.org.
What if you wanted to give money to a great cause, held a contest to do that, and nobody won???
That's exactly what happend with the Vote for Your School contest. No one won the $50,000 sweepstake, and we didn't have enough votes to reach the minimum required for the school contest.
What does this mean??? Lake Center Elementary School can still win! PLEASE HELP US GIVE MONEY TO SCHOOLS

What are Power Up Packs?
Power Up Packs is a weekend backpack program feeding children in Portage who are hungry. Lake Center Bible Church has teamed up with 3 Portage elementary schools. We estimate we will serve between 70-80 students and their older siblings this school year. Power Up sends home kid-friendly meals in backpacks on Fridays to provide weekend support, which supplements the free/reduced lunch program already provided in the schools.
How can you help?
Please donate any of the following food items:
EZ Mack packets (microwavable kind)
Canned soup or pasta
Individual fruit cups or applesauce
Where can I drop off my donations?
