The primary fundraiser for the Lake Center PTO will be a “Walk a thon” type event. The event is called the Lake Center Turtle Trot. We do not plan to participate in any catalog sales programs during this school year. The Turtle Trot will take place on Friday September 26th during school (Rain date: Oct 3rd). Prior to the event, students will solicit pledges from family, friends and neighbors for a fixed amount or for the number of laps traveled around the track. After the event, students will collect donations and earn great prizes. Some of the reasons we are excited to host this fundraiser:
Great Return: Nearly 100% of every donation goes to support Lake Center !!
Reduce your Taxes: Portage Lake Center PTO, Inc. is a 501c3 tax exempt organization.
Donations made during this event are tax deductible if you itemize.
Double your money: Some employers participate in “Matching Contributions” and will match employee donation 501c3 organizations. Check with your employer.
Promote Fitness: This event encourages kids to participate in fun physical activity. Fun: We will be providing a fun, festive environment for the event. Kids will have the opportunity to win great prizes that promote school spirit!
Let the FUN raising begin! - Look for forms coming in September…

The Lake Center Legend is a fun and candid group picture of your child’s class. It’s a great way for your child to identify all of their new friends and help put faces with names. They will be available for purchase at open house for $4.00. Previous years discounted. A limited supply will be made available.
Be sure to get yours before they are gone!

Thank you for supporting Lake Center Elementary through the PTO events
*Make it a safe snack day!*
Here's a handy link to find snack ideas for LCE. In 2007, it was estimated that over 3 million children aged 18 years and under had some kind of food allergy and that number has been rising. Even though a great deal of time is invested researching and keeping the Guide up to date, never rely upon it as a sole resource for protecting a child with food allergies. Always read the label before purchasing a product because manufacturers may change their ingredients and processes at any time. Thank you.
It Takes a Village
It takes a village to raise a child ! All parents and teachers are automatically members of our PTO. Being involved with the PTO is a wonderful way to support your school, and your child's education. Whatever interests or skills you have, there's a place for you in the PTO. Please join the Portage Lake Center PTO to create a positive community for our children.
